The ultimate Kingston game day plan

AFLW season is here and it’s easy to support our Saints right here in Kingston.

Located in Moorabbin, RSEA Park is the home of the St Kilda Football Club! The women’s team play their first home game at RSEA Park on Sunday the 8th of September against the Sydney Swans. The park is easily accessible by car and just a 15-minute walk from the Moorabbin train station.
No matter what game you’re going to, we’ve curated the perfect game day plan. So, chuck on your red, white & black, clear your schedule and spend the whole day exploring Moorabbin!
Set yourself up for the day ahead with a coffee and pastry. If you’re traveling via Metro, step off the train and straight into Uncles Café for a coffee or matcha latte. Then, head to Penny for Pound at Morris Moor for the most delicious treats. We’re talking strawberry vanilla swirl croissants, salted pretzels and hot jam donuts. Now you’re fuelled up and ready to explore!
No Sunday is complete without a stroll, so head on over to Karkarook Park. It’s the perfect spot to connect with nature, walk along the Lake Trail and see local birdlife from the pier. If you’re up for a challenge, bring your fishing line along and try to catch a Rainbow Trout, Murray Cod or Redfin Perch.
After working up an appetite, it’s time to stop by Robin’s Deli for a bite to eat. You’ll find amazing gourmet toasties and great vibes. Grab a toastie (we love the meatball sub and the Nashville chicken sandwich dripping with hot honey) and enjoy it on the deck for an ideal lunch.
Now it’s game time! Kickoff for this game is at 3:05pm but we suggest making your way to RSEA Park a bit early so you can soak up the exhilarating atmosphere. There are rides, games, food trucks and loads of fun for the whole family to enjoy. We love supporting women’s sports, especially our local St Kilda team. So, bring your friends and family along and get ready to cheer.
Finish your day with a feast at Big Pig Canteen. Tucked away in the industrial precinct, this restaurant is easy to drive past. But trust us, you don’t want to miss this! Enjoy American-style BBQ with all the trimmings. Dig into one of their meat platters, burger or some wings and pair it with a pint in the Beer Garden.
There you have it, the ideal game day in Moorabbin! Don’t wait, buy your AFLW tickets for the 2024 season and follow @this.is.kingston for more things to see & do.
